Behind Our Family Run Joinery Company

At The Joinery Workshop, we’re a small family-run business built on craftsmanship, care, and a love for woodwork. Richard has been a skilled carpenter and joiner for over 23 years, bringing years of experience and attention to detail to every project. More recently, Rachael has joined him, bringing her Health and Safety expertise to ensure everything we do is carried out to the highest standards.

We handcraft a range of wooden products including garden gates, framed gates, picket gates, steps and benches, each one designed to be a charming and practical addition to any outdoor space. Every product is made using high-quality wood that’s dip-treated for durability, with our gates carefully ledged and braced for extra strength and stability.

With their natural finish, our pieces offer a rustic, traditional touch that blends beautifully with any garden. We’re also happy to create made-to-measure products, giving you something unique and perfectly suited to your space.

What areas can you deliver to?

We are based in Penkridge, Staffordshire but we delivery nationwide.

Can you repair or restore existing timber gates and doors?

In most cases, yes. We can assess the condition of your gate or door and advise whether it can be restored or if a replacement would be the better option.

How long do you take to deliver?

Most bespoke projects take around 10 days from order to delivery. Ready-made stock can often be delivered in just 2–3 days, with our aim to offer next-day delivery in the near future.

What types of timber do you use?

We use all pressure treated redwood timber, which is strong, durable and naturally attractive. All our products are also dip-treated to help protect against the elements.
